Ahhh…kids. They always fight about who gets to sleep on the top bunk. As a child, I’ve also experienced that. My siblings and I would always try and outdo and outwit each other when it comes to who gets to sleep on the upper deck.

But the lower bunk need not be ignored. Some parents try and make the lower bed more appealing by making it a bigger area and adding all sorts of bedding accessories, including toys, there. You could also put a softer and more comfortable mattress on the lower bunk, to encourage kids to choose that area over the top bunk. It might put an end to all the arguments.

Robin Preston, the digital artist from whom this mattress track idea came from, created this to “show the different types of sole for Adidas track shoes, part photo part illustration.”

Evidently, he is a lot more clever than everyone else. This is a common scene nowadays. You know, the fact that people fall in line or keep a vigil when something new or exciting is about to happen. They do this so that they are the very first ones to get into a concert, an audition, a blockbuster movie or in this case, the very first ones to get dibs on the latest gadget, the iPhone.

Others bring folding chairs or sleeping bags, especially if they plan to go and camp days earlier. This guy brings an air mattress. And he’s relaxing comfortably as they wait for the store to open.

No doubt, you are already familiar with the ads for Sleep Number Beds, a gadget that lets you adjust the firmness or softness of a mattress based on what you require. It basically works just like a remote, and you just push the buttons to increase or decrease it. The Radisson Hotel chain makes use of this type of bed. In fact, its one of the hotel’s best features.

Lead guitarist Michael Einziger, from the very popular California rock band Incubus, had us build a Tri-Pedic to fit the shape of his unique media room loft area that allows the comfort of sitting and playing the guitar while watching his favorite movie, as well as the ability to lie back and get some much needed blissful sleep.

This is so interesting. And so cool! Of course, if you have the means to pay for it, why not right? Blissful sleep indeed!

I know, I know….this horse head pillow is definitely one that is mean for April Fools, but novelty items may also be gifted the whole-year round. I mean, if you are out to get someone, this could send a very strong message, which is inspired from the movie, Godfather. But, if you haven’t got a mean streak in you and have no enemies to send creepy messages to, it’s still the perfect prank gift for your friends and loved ones. Let’s just hope they appreciate your brand of humor.

It looks like this bed is suspended in midair but the fact is there are parts of the bed frame hinged to the wall and the mattress just extends beyond the frame. The whole thing brings this illusion of floating….which will probably work best for insomniacs or those who have trouble sleeping, as floating denotes a certain sense of calmness and might help them sleep better.

The frame is sturdy enough, so there’s no reason to worry that it might collapse under pressure.

This bed has excitement dialed up to the maximum. Why? Because it runs like a car! Under the mattress and in between the wooden bed frame is a Volkswagen base and an engine that has a top speed of 69mph.

An ‘off the shelf’ wooden bed from Ducal (slightly modified and steel reinforced!) has been grafted onto a severely shortened (over 1.2m) chassis. An unleaded van engine drives the rear wheels through a 4 speed manual gearbox. Hidden under the duvet are conventional controls, however, a fixed seat position required an adjustable pedal assembly. The fuel tank is replenished via a hot water bottle at the foot of the bed. Four point harnesses and reclined bucket seats prevent the driver and two very close friends falling out during the night!

K-F Dealer M. H. Ripley inaugurated the “Make-A-Bed” feature to meet customer demand for a smartly styled, powerful automobile which could double for sleeping quarters on long trips. The “Make-A-Bed” accessory, which fits any 1951 or 1952 Kaiser 4-door sedan, is installed in two hours and permits the car seats to be converted into a double bed in just 10 seconds.

Pictures are hanged on the wall. So are paintings. How about a bed or mattress? Well, if you’re looking for a bed frame and you find yourself tired of the usual designs out there — platform, four-poster, sleigh beds — might I suggest hanging your bed instead? Clearly, this is unusual. But that could be very intersting.

Designed by Francois Laine, the Startus “flying bed” is hanged or folded up from the ceiling when you’re not using your bed. It’s actually quite a space-saver. And you’re not to worry though, it’s won’t come down crashing on you. The fixture and attachments are lighweight but durable. No clue on the price tag though.
