The chemicals to achieve a flame-proof mattress are said to cause more harm than good, ten years down the line. Below are the points People for Cleaner Org have made regarding this:

  • The chemicals used to flameproof mattresses have never been studied for human exposure risk in this application. (Except now the has released a limited study.)
  • We know almost all the chemicals to flameproof mattresses are acutely toxic and many also cause cancer.

Mattress Sliding Off Limits at Playa Vista

Playa Vista community in Torrence, CA is a privately owned hillside that is now currently beefing up their security and access by erecting a 6-ft-wall to deter trespassers, wandering , and even who make use of mattresses to slide down to the hillside.

The changes came after people repeatedly ignored and removed new signs posted in the area, he added. “We were hearing from several people who live (at the top of) the bluffs and who walk on the road,” he said. “There were even getting on mattresses and sliding down the bluffs. … We had tried more passive ways to let people know what the rules were and to abide by the rules, and that didn’t work.”
