About three weeks ago, Chinese made items were being slowly recalled from the market because of news about its possible adverse effects to consumers. This includes products made for the bedroom, such as mattresses and bed sheets. Recently, even Taiwan has been vigilant of this and has recently banned two brands of bed sheet manufacturers. Excerpts from this report:

TAIPEI, Taiwan — A group of Taiwanese businesspeople protested Thursday over the import of Chinese-made bed sheets they say contain toxic substances.

The protest came as about 200,000 workers employed by Taiwan’s bed sheet industry struggle to keep their jobs in the face of Chinese competition that undercuts Taiwanese prices by as much as 75 percent.

Some people go for round mattresses for the sake of aesthetic. A round bed looks different, definitely. It’s a deviation from traditional beds we have.
