Many people prefer a bigger bed or mattress and in the US, the biggest one you can get, other than having one custom-built for you, is a California king mattress. However, some homes still traditionally own a queen size mattress. A queen size mattress is big enough for someone to have a personal bed space, yet not too big enough that you almost feel like sleeping far apart against your partner.
