Would you have guessed there’s a nice and comfortable bed somewhere in this perfectly designed sitting room?Shell out something like $7.25 to get a Moddi Murphy Bed instruction kit where you can figure out how to make this hideaway bed. You will also need, along with a few nuts and bolts, some stuff from Ikea, like the lillehammer bed frame, lack side tables and a sultan lade slatted bed base.

Your total expenses would amount to something still cheaper than the actual Murphy Bed. Great design idea, too!

Designer Pinky Cruz Peralta of The Room Upstairs, a Philippine-based furniture store, believes that less is more. Many of her design ideas are understated, using space to the maximum and doing away with less clutter. Such as with this platform bed, the combines style, elegance and functionality with the side of the bed providing extra shelf space.

I wonder why this bed is called the Darling Bed, because I could never associate the design idea with the word “darling”. Don’t get me wrong, I think the modern artistry evidently displayed by this bed frame is actually quite the a smashing and innovative idea. It also looks like its crafted in high quality. I just cannot call it “darling”.

The frame is of  hand-carved maple wood and smoothen  to finish. Price is $3,120.

This is actually a great design idea from a budding designer on mySpace. It is, as the title suggests, a bed designed for older kids, and its looking quite funky yet modern, almost futuristic even. Its built and custom made for a single mattress, as most kid beds are.

Mani is a mattress combined with a chair, which can change into a few leaning positions: back, legs, arms and neck. It can be a chair to sit on or a mattress to lay on.

It’s basically a teener’s furniture, one where they can relax, play, do assignments and sleep on.
