Here’s another one of those under the bed storage. It’s actually home-made. Turning an Ikea Dalsevl Bed Frame, a reader of Ikea Hacker, submitted this.

In some households, overnight guests are usually resigned to the couch when sleeping. But the idea of “sleeping on the couch” has evolved over the years.

A day bed, for instance, is a better option than the traditional sofa. Many homeowners purchase this because of the practical use for it. During the day, it can be used as a seating area, or for power napping. And when night time comes, it’s turned into a guest bed.

Folding mattresses are also fast becoming the choice because of its space saving solution. Most folding mattresses are thick enough, so sleeping is not bad on the back. And you would have little problem finding storage.

New from IKEA, the Kviby bed’s key feature is in its versatility to handle different mattress thickness. It has Hamar midbeams with cross braces and is made of galvanized steel, working to keep any kind of mattress in place.

This actually reminds me of those chalked outlines in a crime scene, but nevertheless, the design of this bed linen is actually quite odd…in that funky way. The covers come with concealed snaps so that it stays in place. It is made of recyclable materials and for $49.99 from Ikea, it’s a good buy.

Thanksgiving and Christmas season are those times of the year when house guests come in flocks, and you could be left with a space issue.
