An update on the mattress lawsuit

I’ve been following this story when it came out in the nearly a month ago. It has taken my interest because it just baffles me to learn how other people take great lengths to take advantage of each other, that today, there are even mattress lawsuits. To go to jail because you stole mattresses is absurd. But then, I actually sympathize somewhat (somewhat!)… the prices mattresses go for these days, they really are “prized possessions” people would steal for.

Firmer mattress good for babies

According to this report, firm mattresses are best in reducing the risks that may befall while they are tucked in their bed or crib. Parents are also advised to put less of the frills on baby , such as too many or stuffed , because while they may look cute or provide comfort, your may be left helpless among these accessories.

Mattress Firm Now In Birmingham

The Inc., a top national retailer of , leased 21,646 square feet of industrial space at the Shades Creek Business Park on 2901 Shannon Oxmoor Road. The space was leased for $5.25 per square foot, net, with a five-year term.

Delivered in 2000, the Shades Creek Business Park is a 210,000-square-foot industrial warehouse building consisting of 50 parking spaces, 10 loading docks, two drive-in bays and an ESFR sprinkler. As of July 1st, the company occupied the 21,646-square-foot space to support four new retail locations in the Birmingham area.

People who are fond of keeping their money at home, specifically under the mattress, may now avail of this smart card from VideoKall. Aimed for use by migrant workers, what it provides the consumer is the ability to save money securely and without having the need for a bank account. The smart cards may be purchased for US $3 at VideoKall vending machines. The cards have slots where money is placed and this may be deposited back to the machine, with the owner providing personal details. Smart Cards maybe used for international transactions and is replaceable when lost or stolen. It is essentially geared towards electronic banking for the poor or the mattress banking customers.

Mattress Discounters wishes to buy Rockaway Beddings

Some more industry , this time concerning the New Jersey areas…If you have been following the on this section, you would have read plenty of changes in the ownership and proprietorship of many mattress operators and manufacturers.  There’s too much going on in this industry!

RANDOLPH Mattress Discounters reportedly agreed last week to buy 12 Rockaway stores for $660,000 from the bankrupt bed seller. Upper Marlboro, Md.-based Mattress Discounters had previously offered to buy 18 stores from Rockaway , which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April, but withdrew the $1.7 million bid last month.  However, things could change again because the stores will reportedly be put up for sale in an auction. Rockaway has received court approval to hire a liquidator to sell about 121 of its 180 stores.

Bed Retailer in NZ Fined For False Advertising

A bed store with distributorship at Auckland, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin has been fined $26,400 by the Commerce Commission in New Zealand for putting products up on sale, claiming mark down prices, when these were in fact their regular prices.

Advek Holdings, trading as Back to Bed, was found guilty in Christchurch District Court on Monday of breaching the Fair Trading Act 12 times. Commerce Commission chairwoman Paula Rebstock said the retailer had advertised as being on sale when they were actually being sold for the usual price.
