Designer Alberto Frias calls this creation as ”Transport”, an egg-shaped bed or an eye-shaped bed (depending on how you look at it) which is fitted with lights that synchronize to the music blasting from the built-in speakers. The sleeping pod holds a waterbed mattress, too. If escape and refuge is what you’re looking for, then this should give you that.

My personal preference on bedsheets would have to be on the darker scale, like this new jet black sheets from JC Penney. This sheet is for waterbeds, and comes in navy blue and olive, too.

The mattress on this Viteo waterbed, Lylo, is filled with water and is made up weather resistant materials. So, you can put it anywhere in the house, indoors or outdoors, and make it the best place to relax at. Lylo recently made waves at the Maison et Objet , a furniture showcase held yearly in Paris.

The skinny on soft side waterbeds:
The main support comes from foam edgings foam edgings.
It may be conveniently placed on a standard bed frame.
It may be easily positioned on a traditional bed like regular mattresses.

The skinny on hard side waterbeds:
May provide more security for some people.
Harder to handle or move around unlike the soft side waterbed mattress
May need a specially designed bed frame.

Now, this is really a different take on the “water bed”, where the water is not inside the mattress, as regular waterbeds usually are. When other people look for simple bed frames or  really lavish ones to fit their mattresses into, I think this one rules them all, in terms of uniqueness.

I love the idea and concept behind this, but then again…I don’t see how anyone can climb onto the mattress, do you?

I guess it’s the pillow’s version of a waterbed? Not exactly. The wave pillow is specifically a bed accessory for surfers. It allows them to tell the best time to go surfing, without getting up from bed, for the wave pillow will supposedly vibrate.
